NEW TEACHERS INSTITUTE PROVIDES SOLID PREPARATION FOR NEW TEACHERS
August marks the anticipation of the new academic year and one of the supports for new teachers in the northeast is the New Teachers Institute which provides practical skills in diverse areas of the teaching experience.
Begun by the Baltimore District, this event was coordinated this year by Nick Coggins, and the reports have been very positive. Among those in attendance were Cindy Hirt and Betty Williams who were part of the staff. Above they flank our Lasallian Volunteers who will be working at San Miguel Providence this year. For the Volunteers, the NTI follows immediately after their week-long Lasallian Volunteer Orientation. So, with almost two weeks of solid preparation, these Volunteers are eager to begin with all they now know about the profession. We wish them and all our new LI-NE teachers patience and good mentoring as they discover so many new things about education, youth and themselves this year.
