On Friday, February 9, Rev. Peter Cavanaugh died at the age of 66. Peter was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Providence and he served there as chaplain from 1968-1980. Peter was also involved in both the Young Brothers retreats in the late 1970's and the Encounter Retreat program in West Hartford.
His ministry over the years included time at several parishes (Blessed Sacrament, St. Michael, St. Thomas, St. Peter and St. Clare). He also served on the Priests Personnel Board and the House of Formation at Our Lady of Providence, Warwick.
We are grateful for his life and pray for his eternal reward. The wake will be at Barrett's Funeral Home in Warwick on Tuesday from 3 - 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10 am at his childhood parish, Blessed Sacrament, on Academy Avenue, near LSA.
