Sunday, February 4, 2007 may have been widely known as Super Bowl Sunday, but it was also designated as World Day for Consecrated Life. In the Providence diocese, religious women and men gathered at the residence of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary for a dinner, presentation and solemn Vespers. Over 120 religious (including Bro. Raymund Davey FSC and Sr. Savina D'Agostino FMM - sister of "Joe D'Ag") joined together to celebrate the gift of their vocation. The day was organized by the Council of Religious. One of their members who planned the day was Bro. John McMahon. Let us pray in gratitude for the presence of Brothers and Sisters in our various LI-NE ministries. Let us also pray for the gift of future vocations to the religious life among the young with whom we minister.
