FRANCISCAN MISSIONARY SISTERS RETREAT AT LA SALLE CENTER, NOBLE STREET

In early August, seven members of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, made their annual retreat at La Salle Center on Noble Street in Narragansett. Their retreat was directed by Bro. John McMahon who is the coordinator for this retreat house. According to their literature, the Sisters state, "Our congregation began in Cairo, Egypt in 1859 when Sister Mary Catherine Troiani left her native land to face the unknown in the land of the Pharaoh. Community living is our lifestyle. We, Franciscan Sisters, search and experience Christ through prayer, work and recreation. Our Congregation is present in five continents."
