CRISTO REY NY HS HOLDS SUCCESSFUL LENTEN MARDI GRAS

In one place in New York, Mardi Gras came during Lent rather than on its eve. On February 27, 2007, over two hundred people converged on the Prince George Ballroom on 27th Street in The Big Apple for the second annual Cristo Rey gala fund raiser. Building on a successful first year that netted $45,000, the 2007 version netted a whopping $78,000.
The evening included an extended social hour with a silent auction and a short presentation by CRNY President, Fr. Joseph Parkes. The event was ably chaired by Bonnie Brennan and with the help of the remarkable development staff of CRNY, headed by Jessica Dawson O'Brien (seen above with some of the Cristo Rey students who made a powerful presence on behalf of the reason for the fund raiser). The evening was enjoyed by one and all, including LI-NE Provincial, Bro. Edmond Precourt.
The district Mission and Ministry Council will hold its final meeting of the year at CRNY. To learn more about this unique educational system, log on to http://www.cristoreyny.org.
