During the month of February, thirty members of the Lasallian Youth Group at St. Raphael Academy collected $570 over a two week period for a very good cause. Called Project HtwoO, the collection was intended to help fund the drilling of wells to supply clean water to poor African villages. Fr. Vincent Onunkwo from Nigeria (currently at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in VT) had spoken to the students about their efforts to provide clean water. He gave a video presentation educating the students about the poor, unhealthy water conditions in his home village in Southeastern Nigeria . As a response, these Lasallian Youth chose to drink tap water during these two weeks instead of soda and other beverages. The money that they would otherwise have spent for beverages was donated - to the tune of $570. Thank you to all the participants for making a real difference in the lives of some people who may never know you, but who will have a longer, healthier life due to your thoughtfulness and generosity.
