For the last several weeks, a magnificent gingerbread village, thousands of Christmas cookies. trees and decorations, tasty Yule log cakes, culinary delights, paintings, woodworking and wood turning projects kept the boys busy preparing for Christmas. The recent snow helped enhance the festive mood.
All this led to two special events this past week. On Wednesday December 19, the boys, administrators, staff, Brothers' community, and invited guests enjoyed a Christmas dinner together at our main campus at Narragansett. Chef Andy Lussier provided a delicious steak dinner with all the trimmings.
On Thursday evening, Dec 20, about 175 family and friends joined the Ocean Tides community for our Christmas assembly. Joel read the Christmas gospel and three boys, Jeff, Matt, and Jamar shared reflections on the real meaning of Christmas. The Boys Chorus sang several carols throughout the program. Brother Edmond Precourt thrilled the audience with his rendition of White Christmas .
After a brief Christmas message from Brother Brendan Gerrity, the siblings and children of our boys were delighted with a visit from Santa Claus. Santa's pack was filled with gifts for the children, most of whom were wide-eyed and eager to meet the jolly guy.
At the conclusion of the chapel ceremony, everyone went to the main dining room for a reception to enjoy the special treats.
