Saturday, June 14th 2008 was a day of great joy as seven Christian Brothers celebrated a total of 320 years of service to their sisters and brothers throughout the world.
Brother Roger Brossolasco celebrated his 60 years as a De La Salle Brother. Brothers Michael McKenery and Stephen Rusyn their 50th anniversary. And Brothers William Farias, William Fecteau, Lawrence Goyette and Dennis Lee their 40th jubilee.
Father Francis Scanlon was the main celebrant of the 11:30 AM Jubilee Mass, and he delivered a lively homily, complete with props. (Second picture above)
After the homily, the Brother Jubilarians renewed their vows of association for the service of the poor through education, chastity, poverty, obedience, and stability in the Institute. In the third picture above are Brothers Lawrence Goyette, Dennis Lee, Edmond Precourt, Provincial, Michael McKenery, William Farias, and William Fecteau. (Brothers Roger Brossolasco and Stephen Rusyn could not attend due to distance considerations.)
After the Mass, reflections were given on the lives of each of the Jubilarians. Brother Edmond, Provincial (fourth picture above) then presented each honored Brother with a plaque.
At 1:30, a fine dinner for the jubilarians and their guests was served "under the canvas" on the front lawn.
