    MISSION AND MINISTRY
    COMMITTEES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1.Administrator Committee
    a.Chair: Bro. Dennis Cronin
    b.M&M Liaison: Bro. Dennis Cronin

    d.Role : To serve as a liaison between the M&M Council and Boards and administrators of District ministries in the areas listed below.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.To conduct with Board participation a triennial evaluation of chief administrators, as requested by chief administrators.
    ii.Assist Boards in search of new chief administrators and to facilitate the selection and approval process.
    iii.Facilitate process of sponsorship, Lasallian self-study, and evaluation requests for admission into the Lasallian Ministry network.
    iv.To serve as a communications link between individual ministries (chief administrators and Board chairs) and the Mission and Ministry Council.


    2.Intra-District Formation Committee

    d.Role: To serve as the planning group for District Formation activities for faculty and staff.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.Plan, implement, and evaluate formation opportunities, including the bi-annual District Forum Days.
    ii.Serve as a liaison between La Salle Center at Noble Street (Bro. John McMahon) and the ministries of the district.
    iii.Monitor the activities of the Lasallian Ministry Teams at each ministry in the District.

    d.Role: To promote the activities of Lasallian Youth, Collegians and Young Lasallians.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.Plan, implement, and evaluate the summer Lasallian Youth gathering when it is being held in the LI-NE district.
    ii.Gather Lasallian Youth coordinators from each ministry for common planning and programming.
    iii.Work with Regional initiatives in regards to Lasallian Youth, Collegians, and Young Lasallians.

    d.Role: To promote inter-District, Regional, and Institute-wide education and formation programs within the District.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.To serve as a liaison between M&M Council and the International MEL, the REB and the RMFB.
    ii.To promote with the chief administrators within the District and the District ministries, the ongoing Inter-District, Regional, and International formation programs (Buttimer, LLI, LSJI).


    5.Social Justice Committee

    d.Role: To promote Social Justice and Service of the Poor in Lasallian ministries in the District.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.Promote, administer and collect monies for Social Justice grants.
    ii.Monitor, publicize, and act on Social Justice concerns (through District public advocacy procedure).
    iii.Organize and analyze the data received in the biannual Service of the Poor survey (administered on even years).
    iv.Promote Social Justice activities in District ministries: Twinning, Service Programs and Donation programs (canned goods, clothing drives, etc.).


    6.Vocation Promotion/Recruitment Committee

    d.Role : To promote the Lasallian vocation, particularly the vocation of Brother, in the ministries of the District.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.Serve as a sounding board to the District Director of Vocation Promotion.
    ii.Initiate within each ministry, to the extent possible, Lasallian vocation, education and other activities in order to assist in the recruitment of potential Lasallians and Brothers.


    7.Evangelization Committee

    d.Role : To promote evangelization and catechesis, as applicable, within the ministries of the District from a Lasallian perspective.
    e.Responsibilities:
    i.Gather responsible persons (religion department chairs, campus ministry chairs, etc.) for sharing of ideas and practices and developing common activities.
    ii.Serve as a liaison between the District (M&M Council and Ministries) and Regional initiatives (St. Mary’s Press).
    iii.Serve as an advisory group to the Mission and Ministry Council and the Visitor on issues of evangelization and catechesis.
